We do our own calculations, with in-house calculation modules built around the Eurocodes and the Dutch codes of practice. Below is what we use them for. You provide the situation, we provide a substantiated outcome with a calculation report that the structural engineer can check.
How it works. These modules are tools used by our own specialists, not something you calculate with yourself. That is deliberate: the outcome of a structural calculation depends on the starting assumptions, and we prefer to establish those together with you. You get the calculation back in a form that holds up for a permit application or for the project's structural engineer.
Verification of masonry for strength, stability and crack formation.
Characteristic compressive strength of the masonry and its verification in the ultimate limit state.
What this covers →Flexural tensile strength of openwork facade bond under wind load.
What this covers →Verification of masonry arches above openings, from a shallow segmental arch to a full semicircular arch.
What this covers →Verification of the wind-bearing outer leaf of a cavity wall.
What this covers →Spacing between vertical movement joints in a brick wall with unevenly distributed openings, plus the expected crack width.
What this covers →How high a masonry outer leaf can run for a load-bearing structure of cross-laminated timber.
What this covers →Verification of a freestanding masonry wall against wind.
What this covers →Sizing of bed joint reinforcement in the outer leaf.
Required bed joint reinforcement in an outer leaf that has to carry the wind load.
What this covers →Bed joint reinforcement for stack bond, where the bricks are not laid in a running (half-brick) bond.
What this covers →Anchoring of facades and outer leaves under wind load.
Number, type and distribution of cavity wall ties based on geometry, insulation package and wind load.
What this covers →GeoAnc cavity wall ties on columns: design values, tie spacing and a practical grid.
What this covers →Wind load on the fixing of a cassette facade with brick slips.
What this covers →Full wind verification of an A-Brick facade, from peak velocity pressure to the check per fixing.
What this covers →Thermal resistance, temperature profile and condensation risk.
Spans above window and door openings.
