Lintel Constructions

Above an opening, the masonry has to be spanned. That can be done with a steel angle, with reinforced masonry, or with a combination of the two. This calculation verifies all three variants, including cases where a movement joint falls within the lintel.

When We Use This

  • A span larger than what standard lintels are made for
  • A lintel that coincides with a movement joint
  • The choice between a steel angle and reinforced masonry

  • NEN-EN 1993-1-1 (Eurocode 3)
