Cavity Wall Ties

Cavity wall ties hold the outer leaf in place and transfer the wind load to the structure behind it. How many are needed depends on the cavity width, the insulation package, the wind load and the capacity of the chosen tie. This calculation derives the tie grid from that.

When We Use This

  • A wider cavity than usual, for example due to a thicker insulation package
  • A facade in a heavy wind area or in a corner zone
  • A tie type that differs from what is prescribed as standard

  • NEN-EN 1996-1-1 (Eurocode 6)
  • NEN-EN 1991-1-4 (wind load)
