Rc-Value of a Timber Frame Facade

In timber frame construction, the studs interrupt the insulation layer, which reduces the actual thermal resistance. This calculation accounts for these thermal bridges and shows the temperature profile and the dew point through the build-up.

When We Use This

  • A timber frame facade for which the Rc-value must be demonstrated
  • The choice between insulation inside or outside the stud frame
  • Assessing condensation risk at a vapour-retarding layer

Basis

  • NTA 8800:2024
  • NEN 1068:2012

The calculation follows these standards. You receive a calculation report in which the assumptions and the verification are traceable.
